Took 30 hours away from NYC this weekend to go to Maryland. Passing through New Jersey, Delaware, and Pennsylvania to see green trees and wide rivers. Ate some crab and took in some sun, then back to NYC for the last week of grad school. What? Pinch me because I don’t believe it either
We get field trips in grad school too! Today we left the city and met to have class in Queens at the New York Hall of Science where we did the workshops we developed in class. Going out to Queens meant taking the 7 Train and passing 5PTZ–graffiti at its finest.
After a hectic week is setting up and prepping for the opening of our MFA Design and Technology Thesis show, I think life is getting back to normal for me. There should be less sleepless nights in this last week of school. Or at least I hope so! Got to get out to smell the spring flowers and enjoy the Flatiron again today. A beautiful warm afternoon in the city.
Beautiful blue skies in the city today. Walked the long way home along the Hudson after some thesis errands to take a break from the craziness. Well worth the extra 15 minutes and couple miles of exercise.
Late afternoon acai and granola lunch to break up the thesis craziness. With a week to go before the show opening everyone is a little nuts, working long hours an sleeping very little. This is the final countdown.
Today was hot outside and hot in the kitchen. Went for a midday walk to the grocery store to pick up things to prepare the night’s meal for my thesis. This time, it was my first time making pork belly adobo, but I don’t think it will be my last. Quick, yummy and Filipino approved.
Just stumbled upon the Project Runway Duck Tape pop-up shop today. This is probably one place that having rolls is actually a good thing
Spring is in the air and on the streets.
Today as I was buying my lunch and non-alcoholic Ginger Brew and the cashier suggested I try it with a special rum. It was 2PM but she reassured me, “it’s 5 o’clock somewhere.”
Time flies. In a month, grad school will be over, how did two years go by so fast?
